How do you keep your prices low?

We make sure you pay only for what you need – good design and better quality – so you’re not paying for things you don’t.

Here’s what you pay for when you shop with other furniture retailers: shop rental, the storage warehouse and the ridiculous mark-up needed to sustain the cost of running a fully-fledged showroom.

Screed connects you directly to the makers, trimming off the pricing baggage that usually comes with the retail markup; saving you up to 70% off the retail price.

Shopping & Payment

How do I buy stuff on Screed?

In the coolest way possible. You see something you love, and click on the product page. After creating an account with us (just so we know how to keep you updated), click “Add to Cart”.

Once you’re all set to complete your payment, access the Shopping Cart at the top-right hand corner of every page, then click “Checkout”. You can also modify or delete items from the shopping cart at your convenience.

How do I make changes to items in my shopping cart?

To add something to your cart, go to the desired item on the product page and click ‘Add to Cart’. A drop-down will appear confirming the item in your cart. You can either click ‘View cart’ to see your order or keep shopping for more.

To delete an item from your cart, go to the shopping cart and click the ‘X’ button on the left hand side of the item.

To change the quantity of an item, enter the number you want for that particular item in the ‘Quantity’ field.

The shopping cart will be updated accordingly in real-time, adjusting the final price whenever you make any changes.

I have a coupon code. How do I use it?

Once you have confirmed the products that you would like to purchase in the shopping cart, there’s a box on the right corner of the shopping cart to key in your coupon. The price will be adjusted automatically to reflect the discount once you click “Apply”.

Certain coupon codes have a minimum spending pegged to it. This is shown on the coupon itself. For example, a $25 coupon code may only be applied if your total checkout value is $100 (depending on the conditions tagged to the promotion), otherwise the shopping cart will not be able process your coupon code.

What type of payment methods do you accept?

We accept the following payment methods:

How safe is it to pay by credit card?

All credit and debit cards payment is done via PayPal, an international payment gateway which uses industry-leading security infrastructure similar to banks and government institutions.

PayPal automatically encrypts your confidential information from Screed using Secure Sockets Layer protocol (SSL) with an encryption key length of 128-bits (the highest level commercially available) to prevent fraudulent transactions.

Do you store my payment and personal information on your site?

We do not store or request your credit/debit card details on our site. We only store personal information like your name, email, phone number and billing/shipping address that you have provided to us when creating your account. This is so that the next time you make a purchase, the form is automatically filled in for you.

As an added security layer, all confidential information is stored on a different server – guarded physically and electronically – separate from the server hosting the website.

How can I be sure that my confidential data are not shared with third-parties?

We treasure privacy as much as you do and as such will never disclose any such information to anyone, ever unless we are directed by a legal Court to do so. Read our privacy policy here.

The only other time your information is shared with a third-party is when you explicitly authorise such information to be shared when you sign-up or log-in via Facebook or Twitter.

How do I subscribe or unsubscribe from the newsletter?

You are automatically included in the newsletter subscription list when you create an account with Screed. Be sure to add us into the ‘whitelist’ to ensure that our emails are received in your inbox folder and not incorrectly marked as spam.

You can unsubscribe at any time. There is a ‘Unsubscribe’ button at the footer of the emails that we sent to you.

How often do you send out your newsletters/promotional materials?

We send out our newsletters and promotional materials when for product launches and major events – no more than twice a month. Pinky promise!

Do I have to pay GST?

No, you do not have to pay GST.

Are there additional/hidden costs like custom fees other than what is shown on checkout?

No. The final price listed during checkout includes shipping/delivery fees, custom fees as well as any taxes levied.

Do the prices include installation?

Prices stated do not include lighting installation.

We do not provide installation services and we'd recommend you engage a qualified electrician to perform the lightings installation!

As a tip, if you are currently doing up your home renovation, electrical installation would usually be included in the renovation package so you may wish to check in with your designer or contractor regarding this!

Warranty and Returns

Thank you for shopping with Screed! Your satisfaction is our number one priority, and we’re committed to providing you with a delightful shopping experience. Our products represent our high standards for craftsmanship and quality for material.

Product Warranty

We provide 6 months product warranty on all our products; if you encounter any faulty issues or lighting malfunctions, we will be happy to assist with a one-to-one exchange (we have to add this is very very rare on our products!). We reserve the right to refund or provide an exchange with an item of similar value in the event of stock unavailability. For avoidance of doubt, the warranty does not apply to damaged items resulting from misuse, abuse, defective maintenance, normal wear & tear, incorrect installation, damage caused by third-party installers, and products damaged after delivery was made.

Return Policy

Items sold are not exchangeable or refundable. We don't accept refunds or exchanges for change-of-mind or damages caused by third-parties; seek your understanding in this! All goods will be checked and inspected upon delivery of goods to ensure acceptance in good condition.

We check all our items before delivery to ensure the items are correct and in good condition. If you have received an incorrect item (which is rare!), you can initiate an exchange by contacting us and we will get back to you to rectify as soon as we can.
